Submission Preparation Checklist

• Co-authorship: Articles may be co-authored by a maximum of three (3) authors.
• Academic Credentials: At least one author must hold a Doctoral Degree (Ph.D.) in Law or in a field directly related to the article's theme.
• Simultaneous Submissions: An author cannot simultaneously submit more than one article for evaluation through the platform, even if with different co-authors. Any secondary submission will be automatically marked as "rejected."
• Publication Interval: Authors who have previously published in this journal must wait a minimum of twelve (12) months before submitting a new manuscript, counted from the publication date of their article.

• Originality and Ineditism: The article must be an original, unpublished contribution and must not be under evaluation for publication by any other journal or publisher.
• Editorial Line Alignment: The article's theme must align with the Journal's "Editorial Scope." Preference will be given to matters related to the Federal Judiciary, legal issues of global reach that present cross-border relevance, or those adopting comparative or transnational perspectives, fostering dialogue with legal debates developed across diverse institutional and geographical contexts. In the case of a special thematic issue (dossier), the submission must follow the thematic guidelines specified in the respective call for papers.
• Word Count and Extension: Submitted manuscripts must contain a minimum of 4,000 and a maximum of 15,000 words, excluding footnotes and references. Following the formatting rules detailed below, files should range between 10 and 35 pages.
• Resubmissions: Articles that receive a final decision of rejection cannot be resubmitted in the same version. A potential new submission requires a mandatory 6-month waiting period and must incorporate substantial changes from the rejected version, addressing the critiques and grounds raised during the previous evaluation process.

• Title: Must be provided in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, using sentence case (only the first letter capitalized), containing up to ten words; if necessary, a subtitle may be added to further specify or delimit the topic, indicating—when applicable—the spatial, temporal, or theoretical scope of the research to facilitate indexing.
• Abstract: Must be provided in Portuguese, English, and Spanish; ranging between 100 and 250 words, in accordance with ABNT NBR 6028 standards. It must include: contextualization of the topic (delimitation of the investigated normative, jurisprudential, or practical problem); objective (indication of the purpose and/or central research question); methodology (declaration of the research approach/method and technical procedures employed); and a concluding synthesis (results achieved or thesis defended). It must consist of a sequence of concise sentences arranged in a single paragraph, written in an objective and impersonal style, preferably in the third person singular, without citations or references.
• Keywords: Up to five terms provided in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, in lowercase letters.
• Introduction: Presents the delimitation of the topic, research relevance, objective, methodology, problem, hypothesis (when applicable) or thesis defended, alongside the organization of the article's sections.
• Body/Development: Encompasses the theoretical and/or legal-dogmatic foundation of the research, offering an organized exposition of concepts, arguments, data, or other elements used to sustain the analysis, in accordance with the chosen methodology and coherent with the proposed objective and research problem.
• Conclusion: Presents, in a concise manner, the synthesis of results, answers to the proposed objective, the thesis defended, and an indication of its contribution to legal knowledge, without introducing new substantial data/arguments that have not been previously grounded in the body of the article.
• References: A list at the end of the text, in alphabetical order by the author's last name, including only works effectively utilized in the preparation of the article, following ABNT NBR 6023 guidelines.

• Page: A4 size.
• Margins: Top and Left = 3 cm; Bottom and Right = 2 cm.
• Font: Arial, size 12 (twelve).
• Spacing: Single-spaced, with no space before or after paragraphs.
• Paragraph: Justified, with a 1.25 cm indent on the first line.
• Section Numbering: Must follow a progressive numbering system identified with Arabic numerals, from the introduction to the final considerations; the body of the text may be subdivided at the author’s discretion.
• Emphasis: Boldface must be reserved exclusively for titles and subtitles; any other emphasis must use italics, which should also be applied to foreign words.
• Citations: Up to three lines must be enclosed in quotation marks within the body of the text, without italics; when exceeding three lines, they must appear in a separate block paragraph, with a 4 (four) cm indent, font size 10 (ten), without quotation marks, in accordance with ABNT NBR 10520 guidelines (items 5.2 and 5.3).
• Citations in Foreign Languages: Must be mandatorily translated into the language of the manuscript, with the original passage provided in a footnote.
• Author-Date System: All citations must be preceded or followed by the author's last name(s), year of publication, and page number, according to the author-date system established in ABNT NBR 10520 (item 6.3).
• Footnotes: It is recommended that they be neither numerous nor extensive, restricted strictly to indispensable cases for presenting concepts and explanations that cannot be integrated into the body of the text.

• Article Text: An editable file in ".doc" or ".docx" (Word) format, stripped of any author identification data, complying with the style standards and requirements described above—specifically regarding ABNT standards (NBR 6022, 6023, 6028, NBR 10520), utilizing the "author-date" citation system, and containing between 4,000 and 15,000 words, excluding footnotes and references. • Authorship: Indication of the full name of the authors, entered in the exact order they should appear in the publication.
• E-mail: Indication of each author’s e-mail address, which may be disclosed in the published version of the article.
• URL: Mandatory indication of the ORCID identification number for each author.
• Institution/Affiliation: Institutional affiliation is defined as the academic or professional bond maintained by the author with an institution at the time the research was conducted or the article submitted, in the capacity of professor, student, researcher, or staff member. If two institutional bonds exist, both affiliations may be reported when they possess equal relevance to the development of the research. Authors without a current institutional affiliation may identify themselves as an "independent researcher," also indicating the institution where they completed their doctoral degree.
• Country: Indication of the country of the primary institutional affiliation for each author.
• Biography: A mini-curriculum for each author, beginning with the institution where they serve as a faculty member (if a current bond exists), followed by their academic degrees (starting with the highest), their other affiliations with scientific associations, and their profession, including the URL link to each author's curriculum vitae (such as the Lattes platform, if applicable).
• Title, Abstract, and Keywords: Must be filled out according to the orientations presented above under "Textual Structure."
• Language: Portuguese (code = pt); Spanish (code = es); or English (code = en).
• Funding: Indication of research funding sources, if applicable.
• References: Indication of the complete list of references cited in the article, with a blank line spacing between each entry.

• By submitting an article, authors manifest acknowledgment of and agreement with the “editorial scope,” the “code of conduct,” the “author guidelines and submission requirements,” as well as the “evaluation process.”
  The submission of material to the platform implies a tacit declaration by the authors guaranteeing: a) Ownership of copyright, responding exclusively to any claims related to such rights; b) The unpublished nature of the article; c) The originality of the content and compliance with the provisions of Law No. 9,610/1998, properly citing all publications relevant to the preparation of the manuscript submitted to the Journal, fully aware that plagiarism, in all its forms, constitutes unethical and unacceptable editorial behavior under the sole responsibility of the author; d) The absence of any infraction of academic integrity.
• Authors also guarantee that the intellectual and material preparation of the article—encompassing conception, formulation of theses, argumentative structuring, data analysis, doctrine, legislation, and jurisprudence, as well as the interpretation of results and the formulation of conclusions—is entirely of their own authorship and responsibility.
• Authors are aware that any activity carried out with the operational support of artificial intelligence tools must be expressly declared in the article, as well as fully supervised and validated to ensure accuracy and precision, with the authors assuming full responsibility for the integrity of the research and the final content of the article, including citations and references, which must correspond to the sources effectively consulted.
• If there is any funding or receipt of resources from commercial or non-commercial sources, it must be reported in the specific fields of the system, and the existence (or absence) of any potential conflict of interest that could compromise the submitted work must be declared.
• If the article involves research involving human subjects, it must be accompanied by a supporting statement proving that all procedures were conducted in compliance with relevant institutional guidelines and laws, and that the appropriate institutional committees approved them.
